In this year, it is the 5th International School of Structural Biology for young scientists traditionally held in Shemyakin-Ovchnnikov Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry, Russian Academy of Sciences (IBCh RAS). IBCh RAS, being one of the largest scientific organizations in Russia in the field of life sciences, is also the largest NMR center, including four spectrometers 800, 700, 600 and 300 Hz. In addition, IBCh RAS has strong computer modeling and cryo-EM scientific teams.

The scientific program of the School includes lectures of leading scientists working in various fields of Structural Biology, such as: NMR spectroscopy, X-ray crystallography, cryo-electron microscopy, computer modeling, EPR, AFM, etc. During the School, students and young scientists will have an outstanding opportunity to become familiar with various approaches to study complex biological objects: membrane receptors, soluble proteins, viruses, ribosomes, etc.

The School provides several events of youth activities aimed at establishing new connections and acquaintances. A poster session for young scientists will be held to present their works and to create a platform for the exchange of scientific ideas. The three best poster presentations will be awarded by the prizes from sponsors. There will also be three master classes on NMR, cryo-EM and drug design. Participation in the Scientific Battle will allow young scientists to prove that their method of Structural Biology is the best! The winner of the Scientific Battle, chosen by the audience, will receive the People's Choice Award.
